Role overview
The Information Governance Officer supports the organisation’s compliance with data protection and information governance requirements. The role sits within a small Information Governance team, part of the wider IT and Data Governance department.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring personal data is handled in line with data protection legislation
Supporting systems and processes that protect information and privacy
Responding to data protection requests
Investigating potential data breaches
Supporting audits and compliance activity
Monitoring data protection training
Working with teams across the organisation to maintain compliance
Person specification
The successful candidate will have experience in a data governance or compliance-related role, strong knowledge of GDPR and UK data protection law, and the ability to work independently. An ISO-certified GDPR qualification (or equivalent) is required. Experience with fundraising compliance is desirable but not essential.
