Hours: Full-time, 34.5 hours per week, shift pattern over 7 days (8am–8pm). Compressed hours may be considered.
Location: Home-based or hybrid (London, Shipley, or Glasgow office)
Salary: £29,000 – £32,000

About the Online Community

Macmillan’s Online Community is a peer-to-peer support network for people living with cancer, supported by volunteer Community Champions. With over 80,000 members, it offers a safe, anonymous space where people can connect 24/7, 365 days a year.

About the Role

The Online Community Officer role is focused on delivering and supporting high-quality online services for people affected by cancer and other key audiences. The postholder will:

Maintain and support the community to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Moderate posts and online content.
Respond to help requests from members.
Support volunteers and drive engagement between members.
Work to a shift rota, including unsupervised periods.
Candidate Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

Experience working with online communities and social media.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing, managing, and moderating online content.
Good IT skills, including CMS use, basic HTML, and image optimisation.
Experience providing support via email, online, or over the phone.
